Sending Birthday Fishes!

Good morning! Ah, August is almost over! Where did the summer go? Most of the schools in our area start tomorrow, but my husband's school doesn't start until after Labor Day - woo hoo! We're going to spend the week relaxing, going to the county fair, and maybe camping this weekend!

Anyways, I have a quick card to share with you today! I made this card to send to my brother for his birthday! This card came together so quick - I like when that happens! Usually it takes me a while to figure out exactly how I want everything to look, but this card came together in no time!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Critters in the Sea" and "Good Fortune", as well as their newest alphabet die cut, "Finley's ABCs." I think alpha dies are so much fun, and this one is so cute!! Here is a close up of the card:

I added some glossy accents to the die cuts to give them some details, and I also added stickles to the air bubbles. The two little fish are attached with foam tape to give them dimension, too!

I am entering this card into the Pretty Pink Posh Cutting Edge Blog Hop!

Well, thanks for stopping by! The new die cut will be available at Lawn Fawn's store on August 28th along with the rest of the new releases! Everything is so, so cute! :)

Lawnscaping #88 - Texture

Good morning! Can you believe that it's already the middle of August?! I can't! My husband starts school today, but the students don't go back until September. This summer went by so quick!

It's my favorite time of the week - another Lawnscaping Challenge! This week's challenge is to use texture in your project. Here is the project that I created:

For this project I added felt and quilt batting to my card! I didn't have any white felt, but I found some quilt batting in my sewing stash that worked perfectly! And the best part is that the felt and batting die cut so easily! This card features Lawn Fawn's "Bon Voyage" and "Riley's ABCs" stamp sets, as well as "Stitched Scalloped Border Die," "Heart Dies," and cloud dies from "Blue Skies." The striped background paper is also from the "Let's Polka" petite paper pack!

I hope that you have a chance to play along! I can't wait to see what kind of texture that you add to your project! Also, the winner will receive a stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn! (And their new products will be available soon!!)

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your week! :)

Lawnscaping #87 - Back to School!

Good morning! I hope that you had a nice weekend! Whew - I'm exhausted from my weekend! My sister-in-law got married, so everyone in the family has been super busy getting things ready. Everything went smoothly though, and the bride and groom were glowing! I'm so excited for those two! :)

It is time again for another Lawnscaping Challenge!! This weeks challenge is to create a back to school themed project!

My husband is not a fan of this challenge because it means that the beginning of the school year is coming! He's is trying to enjoy his last few weeks of summer vacation! So, to get him pumped up for school to start, I made this card:

Teacher need encouragement, too! :) This card features Lawn Fawn's "Quinn's ABCs" stamp and die, "Quinn's 123s" stamp and die, "Hats Off to You," "Smitty's ABCs," "My Silly Valentine," and "Blue Skies" for the stars. Everything is stamped, colored, cut, and adhered to the card base. And I didn't use any foam tape (that's so unlike me!).

The sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp and the winner will receive a $25 gift card to their store!
