Lawnscaping #82 - Distress Mania

Hello! I hope that everyone had a good weekend! Our community had yard sales this weekend, so my husband and I walked around and found a few good deals! We got some new shoes, baby clothes, and our favorite, a new vacuum! We're excited about that one! :)

Anyways, it is time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge - Distress Mania!

You can use distress markers or inks, distress the edges of paper, or just do anything that will give your project a distressed look! For my card, I decided to use some inks to make a distressed ocean scene!

I used the "Stitched Scalloped Border" dies to create a mask that I used to create the ocean waves! I masked the bottom wave first and used my darkest shade of blue, then I did the same with the other two waves but using lighter shades of blue. I cut out the whale and fishes from the "Critters in the Sea" and gave the dad a hat from the "Hats Off to You" stamp set. The sentiments are from "Milo's ABCs" stamp set and "Cole's ABCs" dies.

Don't forget to play along because the winner will receive a stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn (and they're coming out with some super cute sets on May 22nd!!)

Well, thanks for stopping by! Have a great week! :)

Washi Tape Cards

Hello! I have a few cards to share with you for the current Paper Crafts Gallery Idol Competition! The competition sounds like such a unique and fun challenge that I had to play along. I was able to make two cards to submit for the competition. Here is the first card:

To create this card, I cut various colors and styles of washi tape into 1/2 inch squares and then cut them in half to form triangles. Then, I used a ruler to help keep everything straight, and arranged the triangles on the card base to create a fun pattern. Some of the rows aren't super straight, but I still like it! I wanted the sentiment to stand out against the colorful background, so I added some black stickers from American Crafts.

The next card is just as colorful, but this time I used a bunch of stars!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Year Two" stamp set and "Stitched Jounraling Card" die for the stars. I die cut stripes of washi tape to make a bunch of star "stickers" that I arranged onto the card base. Again, I used black ink to help make the sentiment stand out!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! I have a few Mother's Day cards to share with you this morning! :)

For my first card, I used a Halloween set to create a card for moms! It's fun to try and stretch your stamp supplies for different occasions!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Critters in Costume" and "Quinn's ABCs" stamp sets, as well as "Quinn's ABCs" dies. Since this is a Mother's Day card, I gave the owl a pink cape and mask (and I even added some sparkle to the cape!).

For my next card, I created a bouquet of flowers! What mom doesn't enjoy receiving flowers on Mother's Day (or any other day...)?!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Our Friendship Grows" and "Happy Everything" stamp sets, as well as some gold sparkle twine. I attached the flowers with a bunch of foam tape to give them a lot of dimension!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have a nice weekend! :)

Poppy Sketches #3

Hello! I have a quick card to share with you for the current Poppy Sketches!

This is such a fun challenge blog because they provide you with a sketch and a color combination! That makes for a really unique challenge! Anyways, here is the card that I created based on the sketch and colors:

This card features stamps from Sweet Stamp Shop's "Too Hip" stamp set. Their images are just so cute! I paper pieced both of the cacti and I attached them with a folded piece of paper to make them "bounce!" They dance to the music when you move the card! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Stop by again tomorrow to see some cards in honor of Mother's Day! :)

Lawnscaping #81 - Stamp a Background

Happy Monday!! Did everyone have a nice weekend? I was able to spend some time this weekend doing a little bit of dress shopping for an upcoming wedding! Yay! We had a lot of fun! :)

Since it's the first Monday of the month, that means there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge! Woo hoo! The challenge is to create a background using stamps.

I'm not sure why, but recently I have really wanted to create something with these cute elephants from Lawn Fawn, so I used them to create this background:

This was so easy to make (just a little time consuming coloring the elephants - there are so many!) but I really like it! First I stamped where I wanted the two love elephants, and then a stamped the other elephants all around. After that, I stamped some hearts to fill in the gaps. Each of the elephants is colored in a little bit with a grey pencil and the love elephants each have colored bows with stickles. This card features Lawn Fawn's "Love You Tons" stamp set and bows from Sweet Stamp Shop's "Too Hip."

Don't forget to play along! The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamps! They have awesome products to choose from! :)
