Lawnscaping #135 - Patterned Palooza

Hi everyone! It's the first Monday of the month, so that means there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge!
I am so sad because this is my last Lawnscaping Challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with the LS girls, and I am really going to miss being part of the team!

Anyways, the challenge this week is to add patterns to your project, so I decided to make a patterned background from some of the images in the "Little Bundle" stamp set:

I stamped the images on a piece of white cardstock with Manatee Ink, and colored the images with Prismacolor pencils. I also used the "Flirty Frames" stamp and dies for the sentiment and attached it with foam tape. Here is a close up:

I hope that you're able to play along because the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to Ellen Hutson

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you have a good week! :)

Lawnscaping #134 - Rainbow

Hi everyone! It's time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!

This week's challenge is to create a project with the colors of the rainbow!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Yay, Kites!" stamp and die, "Big Scripty Words" stamp and die, "Puffy Cloud Border" die, and Mermaid Ink. I stamped and colored the kites with Copic markers, and added a few heart and star images to the large kites. The edges of the clouds are inked with the Mermaid Ink. Here is a close up on the card:

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to play along! The winner will receive a free stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn! Have you seen the new products that will be release in August?! Soo cute!! :)

I hope you have a wonderful day! :)

Lawnscaping #133 - Mood Board Inspired

Hi everyone! Happy 4th of July! Do you have anything fun planned for today? We're going to have a family picnic and try to watch fireworks from my in-laws backyard. Hopefully we'll be able to see some, but if not, we have sparklers! :)

So, there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge today! Yay! The challenge is to create a card based on the inspiration photo below:

I really liked the yellow and blue in the picture, so this is what I created:

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Chit Chat" stamp and die, "Sun and Moon," "Simple Puffy Cloud Frames," Let's Polka patterned paper, and the smiley face from "Pizza My Heart," and yellow twine. I also added some blue ink behind the sun to give it more detail for the background, and added a few hearts around the fun.

To make the clouds, I die cut them from blue paper and then inked the edges of the inside cloud. I used a little bit of tape on the back to keep the frames together, added some detail with a white gel pen, and attached them with foam tape.

I hope you're able to play along with the challenge because the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ellen Hutson!

Have a great day! :)

Lawnscaping #132 - Distress Mania!

Hi everyone! It's time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!

The challenge is to use some sort of distressing on your project. I decided to use some distress inks to create a water scene for my mermaid slider card!

I don't usually use distress inks, but I really like the effect that you can get by adding water. Next time I'll try to have smaller water splashes! :)

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Mermaid For You," "Stitched Scalloped Border," "Yay, Kites," and "Slide On Over." Be prepared - there may be a lot more slider cards in the future! :)

The cards above show the mermaid "swimming" through the ocean on her narwal! My two year old daughter is obsessed with the new mermaid stamp set and she is always asking to color pictures of mermaids! She's so cute!

Here is a close up on the mermaid and the distressed ocean waves:

Those scritpy words and dies are my favorite! I'm sure that I will be using those a lot in future cards, as well! :)

I hope that you're able to play along with the challenge! The winner will receive a free stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn!!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

Lawnscaping #131 - Off Kilter

Good morning everyone! I'm so excited to be back! It's really hard to find time to craft with two kiddos now, but I'm so glad that I was able to make a card for the new Lawnscaping Challenge!

The theme for this challenge is off kilter - to use at least one element on an angle. I decided to make a cute little scene and I attached it to my card at an angle with washi tape!

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Critters Down Under," "Stitched Journaling Card," "Simple Stitched Hillside Border," "Chit Chat" stamp and die, and various inks - Wild Rose, Mermaid, Merman, Doe, and Freshly Cut Grass. This card makes me smile and I can't wait to send it to a friend for her birthday! Here is a close up on the scene:

The sponsor for this challenge is Ellen Hutson, and the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate! I hope that you're able to play along, and I can't wait to see what you create! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

Lawnscaping #128 - Sketch and an Update!

Hello everyone!  I hope that you are all having a good week so far! This is a little bit late, but I am sharing my card for the current Lawnscaping Challenge!

The reason that my card post is a little bit late is because we welcomed our son at the beginning of April!! James Henry was born April 5th, weighing 8 lbs. 7 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. Here's a picture of my adorable family! :)

Anyways, back to the card. The challenge this week is to create a card based on the sketch, so this is what I created:

This card features Lawn Fawn's Rainbow Cardstock, "Everyday Sentiment Banners," "Chit Chat" stamp and dies, "Blue Skies" stamp and dies (for the stars), and Hippo ink pad. I used the banner dies to cut several banners from different colors of cardstock and arranged them on the card base. For a few of the banners, I used two banner dies to cut the outline of a banner, which I think looks really neat! I finished the card by adding a few stars cut from yellow cardstock, and added the sentiment stamped in the Hippo ink. Here is a close up on the card:

I hope that you're able to play along because the winner will receive a free stamp set from Lawn Fawn!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope that you enjoy the rest of your week! I'm going to try to take as many naps as possible, and I'm hoping to get back to my craft space soon! :)

Lawnscaping #126 - Sweets

Hi there! It's that time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge! Yay!

The challenge is to use something sweet on your project. Here is the card that I created for this challenge:

I added a sweet, blue cupcake! This card features Lawn Fawn's "Critters in the Jungle," "Simple Stitched Hillside Borders," "Bake Me a Cake," "Clark's ABCs," "Happy Everything," and patterned paper from Perfectly Plaid and Let's Polka in the Meadow. I started by adding the blue and green patterned paper to the card base, and stamping the sentiment. I had to mirror stamp the snake to get the one facing the other way, and I added cute, little birthday hats! I also stamped and colored the cupcake, grass, and flowers. I cut out the images and attached them to the scene with glue.

The snakes look excited to take a lick of that yummy cupcake! Hehe!

I hope that you're able to play along with us because the winner will receive a free stamp set of their choice from Lawn Fawn

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!! :)

Lawnscaping #125 - Color Splash

Hello! It's time again for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!

This weeks challenge is to make a black and white card with a splash of color! Here is the card that I created:

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Cole's ABCs" dies, "Stitched 4 Bar Rectangle" dies, "Happy Everything," "Rooting For You," and Let's Polka in the Meadow paper. I also used Avery Elle's "Peonies" stamp set for the flowers and leaves. The flowers are all colored with Prismacolor pencils, and I also added some black stickles to the sentiment for some sparkle! The frame around the sentiment is created by using two of the rectangle dies together.

I hope that you're able to play along with us for this challenge because the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ellen Hutson!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

The card features some of the new Lawn Fawn products including the "Rooting for You" stamp set and die, and "Everyday Sentiment Banners" (one of my new favorites dies!!). I also used a ton of Lawn Fawn inks including, "Mermaid," "Wild Rose," "Cranberry," "Fish Tank," "Freshly Cut Grass," and "Sugarplum", as well as Hero Arts "Butter Bar" and "Orange Soda" inks.

Don't forget to stop by the Lawnscaping blog for more details on how I made this card! :)

Lawnscaping #124 - Celebration!

Happy Monday! I hope that you had a good weekend and Valentine's Day! My husband and I are going out to lunch today, assuming that the weather cooperates! We are suppose to get a few inches of snow today - boo!

On a brighter note, there is a new Lawnscaping Challenge this morning! Yay! The challenge is to create a celebration card.

I decided to create a birthday card for this challenge, so here is my card:

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Gleeful Gardens," "Milk and Cookies," and "Good Fortune" stamp sets, "Scalloped Rectangles Stackables," "Hillside Border" die, "Stitched 4 Bar Rectangles" die, and Let's Polka Mon Amie patterned paper. The images are all stamped and colored with Prismacolor pencils and attached with foam tape. Some of the images, like the presents, have two layers of foam tape so that they really stand out in the scene. Here is a close up on the card:

This cute scene is definitely going to brighten someones birthday! :)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you're able to play along with this challenge! The winner will receive a free stamp set from Lawn Fawn (and they have some super cute new stamps available on Thursday!!)

Thanks! Have a great day! :)

Lawnscaping #123 - Sending Love

Good morning! I hope that you had a great weekend! We were able to spend some time outside yesterday because it was about 55 degrees! That's a heat wave for central PA in January! The rest of this week is suppose to be fairly nice as well! I feel like we're getting spoiled with this nice weather!

Anyways, it's the first Monday in February, which means it's time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!

This challenge is to use hearts or love sentiments on your projects, so this is the card that I created:

I haven't used that airplane set in such a long time! This card features Lawn Fawn's "Bon Voyage" and "Riley's ABCs" stamp set, "Heart," "Scripty Love" and "Puffy Cloud Borders" dies. I also used Wild Rose ink and patterned paper from the Beachside petite paper pack.

Here is a close up on the card:

I hope that you're able to play along with the challenge this week! The winner will receive a $25 gift certificate from Ellen Hutson!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day! :)

Lawnscaping #122 - Watercoloring

Good morning! I hope that everyone had a nice weekend! We finally put away the Christmas decorations and put the house back in order. It's nice to have things back in place, but it always makes me sad to put away the decorations. Until next year! :)

It's time again for another Lawnscaping Challenge! The theme this week is watercoloring!

Watercoloring looks so pretty, but I'm really not that good at it, so this is the best that I could manage! I used a smoosh technique to create this multi-colored background.

This card features Lawn Fawn's "Bugs and Kisses" stamp and die, and Stitched Square Stackable dies. I started by making the watercolored background and once it was dry, I used the square dies to cut it out. I also used two of the square dies together to make the white frame around the images. The images are all colored with Prismacolor pencils and attached with foam tape. Here is a close up on the card:

Please ignore the "g" in bug. I must have moved the stamp block while I was stamping the sentiment. Opps!

You have until Wednesday, January 27th to play along and the winner will receive a free stamp set from Lawn Fawn! I can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! :)
