We Mermaid For Each Other Card

Hi everyone! I have a card to share with you today that was inspired by the Day 7 class for the Spring Card Camp 2 class by Online Card Classes. The lesson was about vellum overlays, so I used pearlescent vellum to create this underwater scene.

I started by ink blending the background with distress oxide inks. I used Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, and Blueprint Sketch inks. Then, I lightly ink blended a piece of white cardstock with green and yellow inks, and die cut it with the Bayou Backdrop die to create the first layer of seaweed. Then, I used that die to cut a piece of the pearlescent vellum, flipped it over so that the back side was facing up, and attached it to the other seaweed piece. I flipped it over so that the seaweed looked staggered at the bottom. I used double sided tape and attached the seaweed to the bottom of the ink blended background.

Then, I stamped and colored images from Mermaid For You and Fintastic Friends and attached them to the scene with foam tape and glue. I stamped the sentiment along the top in black ink and finished by adding a few hearts stamped in Wild Rose ink. Here's a closer look at the card to show you how neat the seaweed looks with the vellum layer on top:

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you all have a great day! :)

LF Inspiration Week: Super Star

Good morning! The Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week continues today with a look at the Super Star stamp set!

The little mouse in this set is so cute, but he needed a friend! So, I added another mouse from the Dandy Day stamp set. It looks like he's saying "wow," right?

The mice, telescope, and stars are all stamped onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. To create the background, I used the Grassy Hillside stencil and inked the grass with Cilantro and Noble Fir inks. I was then able to slide the stencil to cover up the grass area and ink blend the sky with Blue Jay and Deep Sea ink. While the stencil was still covering the grass, I splattered some watered down white paint onto the sky to make it look like stars. After it dried, I die cut it with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle die.

Then, I used the Slide On Over die to create the slider for the shooting star. The shooting star features a tail stamped and die cut from vellum! I added a dime behind the sky panel, placed a piece of foam tape onto the coin, and then added the shooting star to the foam. I added foam tape to the back of the scene and attached it to a white card base. Then, I finished by attaching the stars, mice, and sentiments to the card. It's so fun to see the star slide across the card!

I also created another card that features the stars from the Super Star set along with the Oliver's Stitched ABCs die.

I die cut the letters and lightly inked them with blue ink. I attached the star letters with foam tape and then stamped the rest of the sentiment in Blue Jay ink. The large stars are attached with foam tape and the smaller stars are stamped in Sunflower ink. Here's a closer look at the card:

I just had to create a card with that new alphabet die, haha! I hope you've enjoyed the inspiration and I'll be back again tomorrow with another card! Thanks for visiting! :)

LF Inspiration Week: Winter Narwhal

Hi friends! I have a card to share with you that was featured during Lawn Fawn's October Inspiration Week! This card features the adorable Winter Narwhal!

I started by ink blending on a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock. I used green, purple, and blue ink from Lawn Fawn to create a soft glow from the Northern lights. Then, I splattered some white ink to add some extra details. I die cut a hillside from Pixie Dust cardstock and added a few trees behind it.  The water was created with the Pearlescent Vellum and I used the Ocean Wave Accents die to create a place for the narwhal to swim! I added a few friends to the scene from the Beary Happy Holidays set and placed them on the ice from the Critters in the Arctic set. I finished the card by adding a white border and the sentiment heat embossed in white on a black cardstock banner. Oh, and I added a few stars in the sky!

Thanks so much for visiting and check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration! :)

LF Inspiration Week: Mice on Ice and Stitched Pond

Good morning friends! It's time for the September Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week! This week, we will be sharing inspiration featuring more of the products that were released in August.

Today, we are sharing projects that feature the Mice On Ice stamp set and the Stitched Pond die.

I cut the pond from the Pearlescent Vellum and lightly inked the edges with blue ink. It's so pretty in person! I used the Stitched Hillside Borders to create the snowy hills and I added a bunch of trees colored with Copic markers. The background is ink blended with Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar distress oxide inks. Here's a close look at the card:

I also created a second card that uses the same sets, but I used the Snow Day Remix patterned paper for the sky and border. I think those two mice are so cute holding hands!

To create the border, I used the two largest Stitched Square Stackables die, but you could also use the Stitched Square Frames die. Here's a closer look at this card:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Check out the Lawn Fawn blog for more inspiration and I'll be back again tomorrow with more inspiration to share with you! Have a great day! :)
