Hello friends! I've been taking a little break from blogging and social media, but I'm back again! I have a card to share today and I'll have a lot more cards to share starting next week.
I tried a technique that was new to me to color the kites for this card. I started by white heat embossing the kites from the Yay, Kites! stamp set onto Bristol smooth cardstock. I die cut the kites with the coordinating dies, and then ink blended on the kites with distress oxide inks to color them. I ink blended the bottoms darker than the top to give the kites some more depth. It's a quick and fun way to color images!
Once the kites were colored, I stamped and die cut the strings for each kite. I attached the kites with foam tape to a piece of dolphin colored cardstock that was cut with the Outside In Stitched Rectangle die. I glued the kite strings in place with liquid glue.
To create the sentiment, I white heat embossed the "hello" from the Yay, Kites set and the "sending smiles" from the Butterfly Kisses Flip-Flop set. I used white embossing powder on black cardstock. To finish the card, I glued clear jewels along the kite strings to give it some extra detail.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you have a great weekend! :)
