LF Inspiration Week: Elphie Selfie Flip-Flop

Good morning everyone! Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week continues with a look at the Elphie Selfie Flip-Flop stamp set. This mini set is the mirror image of the elephant in the Elphie Selfie set - how fun! This is so much easier to use than trying to mirror stamp the image.

I used the new flip-flop image to create an interactive new baby card with the Swish 'N Pop Pull Tab. You can check out this video on the Lawn Fawn YouTube channel for a tutorial on assembling the swish 'n pop die.

The background sky was created with Mermaid cardstock and the Stitched Cloud Backdrop. I also used the Outside In Stitched Rectangle die to add stitching detail around the edge of the cardstock. The grass was created with Cilantro and Noble Fir cardstock die cut with the Simple Stitched Hillsides and Simple Grassy Hillsides die, respectively.

The images were stamped onto white cardstock, colored with Copic markers, and die cut with the coordinating dies. After assembling the swish 'n pop die, I attached the baby elephant to the acetate slider piece. I used foam tape to attached the grassy hillside to the front of the card, and glued the elephants behind the grass. It's so fun to pop up the baby elephant!

For the sentiment, I stamped the "welcome" from the Little Bundle stamp set in a Bannertastic banner. The rest of the sentiment is from the Elphie Selfie Flip-Flop set and white heat embossed onto black cardstock.

Here's a short video to show the baby elephant popping up from behind the grass! It's such a fun surprise!

There are a lot of amazing samples on the Lawn Fawn blog, so check it out! Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day! :)

  1. I love this card so much! Do you have (or would you please make) a video demonstrating how you assembled your swish and pop? Your arrangement makes sense to me where the baby elephant is hidden when the arm is pushed into the card and pops out when pulled. Almost every other card is made the opposite way-I think even the official Lawn Fawn demo video. To me the surprise should be hidden then be revealed when the tab is pulled, not disappear when the tab is pulled. Thanks so much!

    1. Hi Brenda! Thanks so much for your sweet comment! I don't have a video for this card, but I will try to create a photo tutorial to show how I created the pull tab on the left hand side. Please send me an email saying hi so that I can let you know when the photos are posted :) (whimsipost@gmail.com)
