LF Inspiration Week: Toucan Do It, Tropical Leaves Backdrop, Slimline Tropical Leaves

 Hi friends! Are you having a good summer so far? We're keeping busy with trips to the local amusement park, lakes, visiting with friends, and spending lots and lots of time outside. 

I hope you're excited because it's time again for the next Lawn Fawn inspiration week. The design team will be sharing projects leading up to the release on Thursday, June 24th. There is a lot of new products that are perfect for summer!

My first card today using the new stamp set, Toucan Do It. The leopards and toucans are so adorable, and I really like the leaves and little flowers that are included in the set. 

I started by creating a white card base and adding a piece of yellow patterned paper to the card. The paper is from a new paper collection that will be showcased later this week. 

This card also uses another new product - the Slimline Tropical Leaves die. I used the die to cut two layers from Cilantro cardstock for the bottom and two layers of Noble Fir cardstock for the top of the card. I attached the first layer onto the background with double sided tape, and the second layer is attached with foam tape to give it some dimension.

I stamped, colored, and die cut the images and arranged them around the card. Since I used foam tape on the leaves border, I was able to tuck some of the images between the leaves layers. I white heat embossed the sentiment, cut it out with my paper cutter, and attached it with foam tape. I finished the card by adding a white border from the Stitched Rectangle Frames die and stamping a few hearts with Wild Rose ink.

My second card uses the new Tropical Leaves Backdrop die. There are so many details on this die and there are so many fun ways to use this die.

I started by die cutting two backdrop layers from light and dark green cardstock. I rotated the layers and glued them together so that the leaves are offset from each other. It gives so much detail to the card!

I attached the backdrop leaves to a piece of green patterned paper and attached it all to a white card base. Then, I added images from the Critters in the Jungle stamp set and attached them with glue and foam tape. The custom sentiment is from Riley's ABCs and Really High Five stamp sets, and was cut with the Everyday Sentiment Banner. I also attached the sentiment with foam tape to make it stand out on the card.
